Mike,
If you need a multichannel AU synth I would reccomend VSampler (www.vsamp.com).
It comes with a standalone package that allows you to build instrument banks (with some
rudimentary editing) and an AU version allowing you to run multiple instances at the same
time (4 AU's with a group of instruments on each one for example).
It looks like you can have multiple banks in one instance but I haven't tried that yet.
Bank loading can be done via au:load-preset.
I've been using it for some time and it's very reliable.

Dave Smith
www.roughlight.com

Subject: [Impromptu] how to play multiple instr. on the same audiounit?
Hi Andrew / mailing list,

on the 'diatonic harmony' tutorial
[http://impromptu.moso.com.au/tutorials/making_music/Diatonic%20Harmony.html
] towards the end you say "I’m playing my instruments on the same
audiounit but using different midi-channels for each instrument. ",
and you go on by assigning midi-channels (numbers) to instrument
names, that then are passed to the play-note function.

I get how this works in principle, but I didn't succeed in setting
this up..
I guess this has to be done from the audio-units UI? Can I do it with
the DLSMusicDevice? Or for example, with Crystal ?

Thanks a lot

Mik
